Welcome! There's an old saying that good things come in small packages and around here, we like to think Strawn is proof of that. Population-wise, our  town may not be big, but it certainly is a great place to be. We want to thank you for taking the time to "discover" this website and the community it represents. Whether your visit is personal, business, recreational or electronic, we hope you'll  take time to explore all the resources we have to offer.

Rich in cattle, coal and oil, the history of Strawn  is unique and varied, and we are immensely proud of the heritage handed to us by our forefathers. We work very hard to preserve it. Just one look at some of the beautiful
homes in our community and you'll see that statement is not made lightly.

At the same time, Strawn is a proud, thriving community embracing all that is good about small town life today.  An exemplary school system,  friendly people and quality businesses make ours a community dedicated to our future.

Located close enough for some and far away enough for others, Strawn is situated exactly midway between Abilene and Fort Worth,  just off Interstate 20. (See map
here)  Nestled in the beautiful southern quadrant of the Palo Pinto Mountains and only a few miles south of Possum Kingdom Lake, we are in the center of a recreational and hunting mecca. Surrounded by cattle and cutting horse ranches and little else, our town offers a quiet and peaceful respite from busy city life .
